Job description

Harbor & Oak Tax Advisors is seeking a results-driven Tax Analyst to join our expanding team in the New York metro area. This role offers exposure to corporate tax compliance, planning, and advisory projects for mid-market and multinational clients. You will work with a high-performing team to deliver strategic tax solutions while ensuring accuracy and adherence to evolving tax laws.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, highly analytical, and proficient with tax software and Excel. We value initiative, clear communication, and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Responsibility

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local corporate income tax returns and extensions.
  • Conduct tax research and risk assessments to support complex transactions and planning.
  • Assist with quarterly estimated tax calculations and timely tax payments.
  • Collaborate with accounting, legal, and advisory teams to implement tax-efficient structures.
  • Support transfer pricing, ASC 740, and other compliance projects as needed.
  • Prepare clear, concise tax memoranda and client-ready reports.
  • Maintain and update tax calendars, deadlines, and documentation packages.
  • Identify process improvements and implement automation to enhance efficiency.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent credential preferred.
  • 3-6 years of corporate tax experience, preferably in public accounting or in-house tax department.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax laws, and international tax concepts is a plus.
  • Proficiency with tax software (e.g., Thomson Reuters, OneSource) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and communicate complex tax concepts clearly.
  • Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with ASC 740, transfer pricing, or tax controversy is a plus.
  • SQL/data analysis or ability to communicate to non-technical audiences is a plus.
