Job description

At Meng Kah Auto Parts Trading (MKA), you won't just file returns—you'll be a financial architect ensuring the Group's expansion is tax efficient across multiple jurisdictions. This is a strategic, senior level role within the Group Finance function where tax decisions influence growth, profitability, and risk management. You will partner with business leaders to design scalable tax solutions that align with business objectives, acquisitions, and new market entries. The position requires strong technical expertise in corporate tax, international tax, and cross border transactions, as well as the ability to translate complex tax concepts into actionable business guidance. You will stay ahead of regulatory changes in Malaysia and key overseas jurisdictions, monitor transfer pricing considerations, and maintain robust tax risk controls. The successful candidate will lead complex structuring, ensure compliant reporting, and drive continuous improvements in processes and data quality. If you are a proactive tax professional who thrives in a fast paced, multi jurisdictional environment, this is your opportunity to make a measurable impact on the Group's growth trajectory.

Responsibility

  • Lead tax planning for mergers and acquisitions, including deal structuring, due diligence coordination, and post-merger integration from a tax perspective.
  • Develop and optimize cross-border tax structures to support international expansion and M&A activity.
  • Manage group-wide tax compliance, including corporate income tax returns, quarterly estimates, and local tax filings across jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with external advisors and internal teams to prepare transfer pricing documentation and TP risk assessments.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulatory developments; advise on impact to the business and implement necessary changes.
  • Oversee tax risk management, audits, disputes, and responses to tax authorities; ensure timely resolution.
  • Prepare tax forecasts, budgets, and scenario planning; provide guidance to finance and business partners.
  • Lead training and knowledge transfer within finance teams on tax processes and controls.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Tax; professional qualifications (ACCA, CA, CPA) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in tax, with exposure to corporate tax, M&A, and international tax.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax laws (CIT, SST) and experience with cross-border transactions and transfer pricing.
  • Experience coordinating with external advisors, tax authorities, and multi-jurisdictional teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, tax software, and advanced MS Excel; data-driven mindset and attention to accuracy.
