Join Lumina Stage Collective as a Theater Production Manager in New York City. You will oversee all aspects of production from initial planning through opening night, ensuring artistic vision aligns with practical constraints and live audience experience. Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end production planning, scheduling, and coordination across departments (production, stage management, design, and casting).
- Develop and manage production calendars, budgets, and milestone tracking to meet artistic deadlines.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors, venues, and freelancers while ensuring compliance and cost efficiency.
- Coordinate technical rehearsals, previews, and load-ins, ensuring smooth transitions between design phases.
- Oversee safety, risk assessment, and compliance with union and venue requirements.
- Collaborate with directors and designers to realize the creative vision within logistical constraints.
- Supervise on-site production teams during performances, ensuring high-quality execution and problem resolution.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in theater, arts administration, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 5 years of live production management experience in theater or a similar setting.
- Strong budgeting, scheduling, and procurement skills; proven vendor management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines with a calm, proactive approach.
- Familiarity with stagecraft, lighting, sound, and technical theatre workflows; knowledge of safety and union policies.
- Proficiency with project management tools and MS Office; experience with venue software a plus.
