Join our mission-driven team at Green Horizons Foundation, Austin's trusted nonprofit focused on community education and environmental stewardship. We are seeking passionate volunteers to support outreach, events, and program delivery. This is an unpaid, part-time volunteer opportunity with flexible hours, ideal for students, retirees, or professionals looking to give back to the local community.
As a Volunteer, you will work closely with staff to engage local volunteers, contribute to meaningful projects, and help expand our impact in the Austin area. Training and ongoing support are provided.
Responsibility
- Recruit, screen, and onboard volunteers for programs and events
- Plan and coordinate volunteer activities, schedules, and assignments
- Maintain volunteer records and manage the volunteer database
- Coordinate logistics for events, outreach sessions, and community programs
- Train and mentor new volunteers during orientation and ongoing sessions
- Communicate with community partners and stakeholders to align opportunities
- Track program impact and prepare regular reports for leadership
Qualification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Passion for community service and mission alignment
- Ability to work respectfully with diverse groups
- Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, and data entry)
- Ability to commit at least 4-6 hours per week for the duration of programs
- Prior volunteer or nonprofit experience is a plus, not required
