As a Volunteer Outreach Coordinator, you'll recruit volunteers, represent our programs at community events, and assist in delivering meaningful services to residents in the Boston area. This role is ideal for students, professionals, or community advocates seeking hands-on experience in nonprofit operations and community engagement.

Location: Boston, MA; remote-friendly for select tasks. This is a part-time volunteer position with occasional evening and weekend commitments.
Responsibility
- Develop and execute volunteer recruitment campaigns to meet program needs.
- Represent the organization at community events and partner sites.
- Screen and onboard volunteers, ensuring compliance and training completion.
- Coordinate schedules, assignments, and logistics for volunteer activities.
- Track volunteer hours and maintain accurate data for impact reporting.
- Collaborate with program staff to tailor roles to community needs.
- Help recognize and celebrate volunteers and support special events.
Qualification
- Enrolled in or completed a degree in nonprofit management, communications, public administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable public speaking.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple tasks.
- Experience with event planning or outreach programs is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; flexible schedule for events.
- Familiarity with basic data entry and volunteer management software is a bonus.
- Passion for community service, equity, and inclusion.
