Volt Co. Ltd. is seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to migrate and rebuild an existing website for a seamless bilingual experience. This freelance contract focuses on delivering English and Thai language versions using the provided design and content. You will work remotely with stakeholders to ensure the finished site is fast, accessible, and optimized for search engines while preserving brand guidelines.
Your collaboration will center on migrating the current site to WordPress, configuring a fresh hosting environment, and implementing a pixel-perfect front end based on the supplied design. You will migrate assets, pages, posts, and links with minimal downtime, and you will establish bilingual functionality using WPML or Polylang. This includes configuring language switchers, URL structures, and ensuring translated content remains synchronized. The project requires attention to performance, accessibility, security, and multilingual SEO considerations such as hreflang tags, sitemaps, canonical URLs, and proper indexing.
You will work with the content team and design assets to ensure a consistent user experience across devices and browsers. This role demands strong communication, effective time management, and the ability to work independently on a remote basis with transparent progress reporting and reliable deliverables.
Responsibility
- Migrate and rebuild the existing site on WordPress with minimal downtime, preserving content and structure.
- Implement English and Thai language versions using WPML or Polylang, including language switcher and translated content workflow.
- Translate provided design into a responsive, pixel-perfect WordPress theme while ensuring accessibility and cross-browser compatibility.
- Migrate all assets, media, pages, posts, and internal links; configure redirects as needed to preserve SEO signals.
- Optimize site performance through caching, image optimization, minification, and best coding practices.
- Configure multilingual SEO essentials including hreflang, sitemaps, canonical URLs, and multilingual metadata.
- Set up staging, backups, and a smooth deployment workflow; test thoroughly across devices and browsers.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, provide regular progress updates, and meet project timelines.
Qualification
- 3+ years of WordPress development experience with a strong PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript foundation.
- Proven experience migrating websites and building multilingual sites using WPML or Polylang.
- Strong knowledge of WordPress theme and plugin development, custom post types, and REST API usage.
- Solid understanding of SEO principles for multilingual sites, including hreflang, sitemaps, and canonicalization.
- Experience with performance optimization, caching strategies, CDN integration, and image optimization.
- Ability to work independently in a remote freelance setting, with excellent communication and time-management skills.
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and deployment workflows; comfortable working with design assets.
- Understanding of accessibility standards and responsive design best practices.
