Join Cambridge Research Institute, a leading hub for interdisciplinary studies and translational science. We are seeking an Academic Research Lead to shape and execute ambitious research programs, drive collaboration across departments, and mentor early-career researchers.
In this role you will design studies, oversee data collection and analyses, manage project timelines, and contribute to grant proposals. You will collaborate with faculty, clinicians, and industry partners to translate findings into impactful outcomes.
Responsibility
- Lead the design and execution of high-quality research projects in your field, ensuring rigorous methodology and reproducibility.
- Oversee data collection, cleaning, statistical analyses, and interpretation of results.
- Coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop research plans and manage milestones.
- Prepare and contribute to grant proposals, progress reports, and manuscripts for publication.
- Mentor and supervise graduate students, postdocs, and research staff; provide career development guidance.
- Ensure compliance with ethical, regulatory, and biosafety standards; maintain proper documentation.
- Present findings at conferences and collaborate with external partners to disseminate results.
Qualification
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Life Science, Engineering, Social Science, or Computational Science).
- 3+ years of post-PhD research experience or equivalent demonstrated scholarship.
- Strong publication track record in peer-reviewed journals.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Python, R, MATLAB, or SPSS; experience with large datasets.
- Excellent scientific writing and oral communication skills; ability to present complex ideas clearly.
- Experience with grant writing and managing research projects; ability to work with stakeholders.
- Mentoring experience and a collaborative mindset; ability to lead teams and manage priorities.
