Join our premier archive team at Nexus Archive Solutions, a leader in digital preservation, records management, and information governance. We are seeking a detail-oriented Archiving Specialist to steward physical and digital archives, enforce retention schedules, and empower enterprise access to critical information.
As a key member of our archival team, you will shape metadata-driven workflows, collaborate across IT and legal departments, and drive scalable preservation practices for a diverse portfolio of materials.
Responsibility
- Develop and implement archival policies, procedures, and retention schedules aligned with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Catalog, classify, and index physical and digital records using established metadata standards.
- Digitize paper records and manage digital preservation workflows, including metadata extraction and OCR processes.
- Perform quality control to ensure integrity, completeness, and accessible archival materials.
- Collaborate with IT, legal, and business units to support data governance and compliance initiatives.
- Maintain secure access controls, chain of custody, and disaster recovery readiness for archives.
- Assist end users with archival retrieval requests and provide training on archival systems.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Management, Archival Studies, or a related field (MLS/MLIS preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in archives, records management, or digital preservation.
- Strong understanding of metadata standards (Dublin Core, PREMIS, METS) and taxonomy design.
- Proficiency with archival management systems (e.g., ArchivesSpace, CONTENTdm) and digital asset management workflows.
- Experience with digitization workflows, OCR, and data governance principles.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical thinking; ability to work independently and in teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
