NovaArchive Solutions seeks a Senior Digital Archivist to lead digital preservation initiatives and archival projects for a growing client portfolio. You will design and implement robust preservation workflows, manage metadata schemas, and collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure long term access to critical records.
This role blends archival theory with practical technology, offering the opportunity to influence standards and processes across the organization while delivering measurable impact.
Responsibility
- Lead digital preservation strategies and ensure long term access to digital assets
- Manage metadata schema design including EAD, METS and Dublin Core
- Oversee ingestion, normalization, and migration of digital assets across platforms
- Collaborate with IT, librarians, and content creators to ensure data integrity and access
- Develop and administer preservation workflows and retention schedules
- Conduct metadata quality audits and provide training on archival best practices
Qualification
- Master’s degree in Library Science or Information Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of professional digital archiving or records management experience
- Expertise with metadata standards such as EAD, METS, Dublin Core and preservation frameworks like OAIS
- Proficiency with archival systems such as ArchivesSpace or Islandora and with SQL
- Strong data governance and privacy aware practices
- Excellent communication, project management, and cross functional collaboration
- Experience leading teams and delivering training and capacity building
