Responsibility
- Prepare artisan breads, pastries, and specialty baked goods from scratch using traditional and modern techniques.
- Weigh, mix, knead, shape, proof, and bake doughs following precise recipes and consistency standards.
- Monitor ovens and baking equipment to ensure product quality, appearance, and texture meet our premium standards.
- Maintain an impeccably clean and organized workspace, adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate with pastry chefs and bakery assistants on seasonal menu development and daily specials.
- Manage ingredient inventory, assist with ordering, and track stock to minimize waste.
- Provide excellent customer interactions when working front-of-house or at farmers’ markets.
Qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a commercial or artisan bakery environment.
- Extensive knowledge of sourdough, laminated doughs, and classic European breads.
- Familiarity with bakery equipment including mixers, ovens, and proofers.
- Strong work ethic; able to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Food Handler’s Permit (or ability to obtain upon hiring).
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
