Job description

IQ-EQ, a global provider of fund services, is seeking a hands-on Assistant Manager, Fund Accounting for a contract engagement in Pasig City, Metro Manila. This role is ideal for experienced accounting professionals who combine technical fund accounting expertise with strong client service and leadership capabilities.

In this role, you will oversee daily fund accounting activities across a portfolio of investment funds, including accurate NAV calculations, processing corporate actions, capital calls and distributions, and thorough reconciliations. You will lead the month-end close, review financial statements and management reports for accuracy and timeliness, and coordinate with auditors, external custodians, and clients to ensure high-quality deliverables. You will mentor and develop junior team members, review deliverables for quality, and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and risk controls.

Responsibility

  • Lead daily fund accounting activities for a portfolio of funds, including NAV calculations, distribution processing, and corporate actions.
  • Review and validate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee reconciliations between fund books, sub-ledgers, and external custodians; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage month-end close processes, ensuring timely journal entries, accruals, and data integrity.
  • Mentor and develop junior fund accounting staff; provide coaching, training, and performance feedback.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders; support audit readiness and issue resolution.
  • Drive process improvements and robust controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS/Philippines GAAP) and internal policies.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certification such as CPA or ACCA is preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of fund accounting, financial reporting, or asset management experience; strong NAV knowledge.
  • Proven supervisory or leadership experience; ability to coach and develop team members.
  • Proficiency with fund accounting systems and MS Excel; experience with platforms such as Geneva or Investran is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills; client-facing experience is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and reporting standards applicable to funds (IFRS, Philippines GAAP, and local regulatory expectations).
