Summit Motor Works, a premier automotive service center in Houston, TX, seeks an experienced Automotive Mechanic who takes pride in precision, safety, and delivering exceptional customer service.
As a member of our skilled team, you will diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues across a wide range of vehicles. You will perform preventative maintenance, follow OEM service procedures, and ensure all work meets quality standards and warranty requirements. Responsibility
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues using OEM and aftermarket tools
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake service, tire rotation, and engine diagnostics
- Utilize diagnostic scanners and software to identify problems and verify repairs
- Document work performed, communicate findings to service advisors and customers
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace while adhering to safety protocols
- Complete repairs within quoted timeframes and quality standards
- Assist with parts sourcing and inventory management as needed
Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent; ASE certifications preferred or willingness to obtain
- 3+ years of hands-on automotive repair experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, engine repair, brakes, suspension, and drivability
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and service information systems
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer-service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced shop and lift up to 50 lbs; valid driver's license with clean driving record
