ForgeTech Motors is seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our growing service team in Detroit, MI. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicles, using modern tools and OEM procedures. As a member of our team, you will work on passenger cars and light trucks, perform inspections, and provide accurate estimates while ensuring safety and quality at every step.
Responsibility
- Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems using OEM service information and diagnostic tools.
- Perform routine maintenance and timely repairs on gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension systems.
- Inspect, replace, and calibrate components to meet OEM specifications and safety standards.
- Read and interpret repair manuals, schematics, and diagnostic trouble codes to determine root causes.
- Document all work performed, time spent, parts used, and recommendations for customers.
- Communicate clearly with customers and service advisors regarding findings, options, and estimated timelines.
- Maintain clean and safe work environment and adhere to all safety policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with fellow technicians to complete complex projects on schedule.
Qualification
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on automotive repair experience in a fast-paced shop.
- ASE or equivalent certifications are preferred.
- Strong diagnostic abilities with proficiency in electrical systems and onboard computers.
- Experience using scan tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and service information portals.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong time-management skills.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record; ability to handle physically demanding work.
