Responsibility

  • Mix, ferment, proof, shape, bake, and finish a range of breads and pastries to exact specifications.
  • Maintain mise en place and stock levels; prepare doughs and batters for daily production.
  • Operate and monitor ovens, proofing cabinets, mixers, sheeters, and other bakery equipment.
  • Follow standardized recipes and adjust processes based on dough development and seasonality.
  • Ensure food safety and sanitation in accordance with local regulations; uphold HACCP practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation and assist with equipment maintenance and cleaning schedules.
  • Collaborate with the team on product development and seasonal offerings; contribute ideas for new items and flavors.
  • Provide excellent customer service when required, including handling special-order requests with care.

Qualification

  • 2+ years of professional bakery experience; pastry experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of dough handling, fermentation, and baking temperatures for breads and laminated doughs.
  • Proficient with commercial mixers, ovens, dough sheeters, and scale-based measurement.
  • Commitment to food safety, sanitation, and safe kitchen practices; up-to-date ServSafe or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as part of a flexible schedule.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills.
  • A passion for quality, consistency, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
