At Luxe Bake Co., we craft premium pastries, breads, and desserts that celebrate craft, flavor, and artistry. We’re seeking a skilled Baker / Pastry Chef to join our San Francisco team and help elevate daily production while maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency.
In this full-time role, you’ll collaborate with a passionate team, lead morning production, develop new items, and mentor junior staff. If you take pride in precision, plating, and customer delight, we want to hear from you.
Responsibility
- Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, and desserts to exacting standards daily.
- Maintain production schedules, portion control, and recipe scaling for consistency across batches.
- Monitor oven temperatures, proofing times, and dough handling to optimize quality and yield.
- Ensure strict cleanliness and hygiene; uphold HACCP and food safety protocols.
- Manage inventory, rotate stock, and place orders for ingredients based on production needs.
- Train and mentor junior bakers; contribute to menu development and plating techniques.
- Collaborate with the team on new product development and seasonal offerings.
- Assist with opening/closing duties and help maintain a welcoming bakery environment for customers.
Qualification
- Minimum 3 years of professional baking or pastry experience, preferably in a boutique or high-volume bakery.
- Proficiency with yeasted doughs, laminated pastries, and desserts; strong bread-making skills.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Excellent knife skills, measurement accuracy, and recipe execution; strong eye for detail.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP principles; ability to implement SOPs.
- Experience with recipe development, scaling, and plating for display.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to mentor others.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
