This remote position requires a reliable home office setup, high-speed internet, and the discipline to work independently while meeting service levels. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong bilingual communication, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to adapt tone for different customer segments. Work hours may include shifts to cover multiple time zones, with some flexibility around schedules.
Responsibility
- Provide real-time interpretation for customer interactions across phone, chat, and email in English and Chinese (Mandarin).
- Translate written customer messages when needed to ensure clear, accurate responses.
- Maintain terminology glossaries and ensure consistency across all bilingual communications.
- Collaborate with customer service and operations teams to resolve issues requiring bilingual support.
- Escalate complex or high-priority cases to supervisors with clear context and recommended next steps.
- Document language preferences, key terms, and feedback to improve language quality and processes.
- Adhere to data privacy and confidentiality policies and protect sensitive information at all times.
Qualification
- Native or professional proficiency in English and Chinese (Mandarin); strong reading and writing skills in both languages.
- Previous experience in interpretation, translation, or bilingual customer support is preferred.
- Excellent listening, speaking, and communication skills with attention to nuance and tone.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and multi-channel support environments (chat, email, phone).
- Ability to work independently from a home office with reliable internet connectivity and a distraction-free workspace.
- Strong customer focus, professionalism, and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Adaptability to changing schedules and willingness to cover different shifts across time zones.
