BioNova Labs is a cutting-edge biotechnology company focused on translational research in genomics and cellular biology. We are seeking a motivated Biology Research Scientist to join our dynamic team in Cambridge, MA. This role offers the opportunity to design and execute high-impact experiments, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to publications and product development.
As part of our growing biology division, you will work on interdisciplinary projects spanning cell culture, genomics, and data-driven analysis to advance our pipeline from discovery to early development.
Responsibility
- Lead the design, optimization, and execution of experiments in cell biology and genomics.
- Plan and perform molecular biology assays (PCR, RT-qPCR, sequencing) with rigorous quality control.
- Maintain and troubleshoot mammalian and microbial cell cultures under sterile conditions.
- Analyze and interpret complex datasets using R, Python, or similar tools; generate actionable insights for project teams.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to translate findings into project milestones and documentation.
- Prepare, review, and present results to internal stakeholders; contribute to reports and publications.
- Ensure compliance with biosafety, quality systems, and regulatory guidelines.
- Mentor junior staff and support training programs within the lab.
Qualification
- MS or PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cell culture, molecular biology, and genomics.
- Demonstrated proficiency with PCR/qPCR, sequencing, ELISA, and related assays.
- Strong data analysis skills using R and Python; experience with bioinformatics is a plus.
- Solid experimental design, rigorous record-keeping, and ability to troubleshoot complex experiments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
- Desire to contribute to translational research and publication quality data.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to safety and compliance.
