SK Nexilis is seeking a skilled Boilerman (Grade 1 or 2) to join our Kota Kinabalu manufacturing site in Sabah. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and optimization of critical M&E equipment, with a focus on steam heating that powers our production lines. You will work within a safety-first team dedicated to reliability, energy efficiency, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on boilers, steam heating systems, pumps, valves, and related instrumentation to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Monitor boiler operations, execute start-up and shut-down procedures, and adjust controls to maintain safe pressure and temperature within approved limits.
- Troubleshoot boiler and steam system faults, perform timely repairs, and coordinate with electrical technicians for complex issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations; execute permit-to-work, lockout/tagout, and emergency response procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service reports, and spare parts inventories; participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support energy management efforts to optimize steam generation efficiency and reduce waste.
- Coordinate with production teams to schedule maintenance with minimal impact on output and product quality.
- Provide guidance to junior technicians and contribute to a safe and productive work environment.

Qualification
- Grade 1 or Grade 2 Boiler Operator certification or equivalent.
- Vocational diploma or technical certificate in mechanical, electrical, or process engineering.
- Proven hands-on experience maintaining boilers or steam heating systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of boiler safety standards, local regulations, and risk assessment practices.
- Proficient in fault-finding, troubleshooting, and basic electrical/mechanical repairs; familiarity with PLCs is a plus.
- Ability to read P&IDs and mechanical drawings; strong problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work shift patterns, including nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
