Fisher Retail Inc. is seeking a detailâoriented Category Buyer to drive merchandising success in its Quezon City stores. In this role, you will own the lifecycle of assigned product categories, from supplier selection to pricing and stock optimization. You will partner with suppliers and crossâfunctional teams to deliver compelling assortments that meet customer demand while delivering healthy margins.
As a Category Buyer, you will analyze sales trends, market data, and consumer insights to inform assortment decisions, negotiate favorable terms, and execute pricing strategies and promotions. You will ensure availability of highâdemand items and manage stock levels to minimize outâofâstock situations while sustaining efficient inventory turnover. You will collaborate with marketing, store operations, and category managers to implement inâstore merchandising, compelling signage, and accurate price tags. Responsibility
- Source, evaluate, and select products for the assigned category to achieve sales and margin targets.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies, promotions, and markdown plans in collaboration with category managers.
- Monitor inventory levels, turnover, and stock availability; optimize replenishment to minimize stockouts.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities and risks.
- Negotiate terms, lead times, and discounts with suppliers to maximize gross margin and reliability.
- Coordinate with marketing, visuals, and store operations to execute inâstore merchandising and accurate price tagging.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships, monitor supplier performance, and manage contracts where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and ethical sourcing guidelines.
Qualification
- Bachelorâs degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Category Buyer or Merchandiser in a retail environment.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and dataâdriven decision making.
- Knowledge of pricing strategies, promotions, and supply chain fundamentals.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management abilities.
- Ability to collaborate crossâfunctionally with marketing, merchandising, and store operations.
