As a Chemical Engineer, you will lead process development from concept through scale-up, optimize existing plants, and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.

Responsibility

  • Lead process design and optimization for chemical manufacturing projects from concept to start-up.
  • Develop and refine process simulations using Aspen Plus, HYSYS, CHEMCAD, or similar tools.
  • Scale up from lab and pilot plant to full-scale production, including data analysis and risk assessment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, environmental compliance, and product quality.
  • Improve energy efficiency, corrosion control, and waste minimization through rigorous engineering studies.
  • Prepare and review PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specs, and participate in procurement and commissioning.
  • Drive project success through robust CAPEX estimation, scheduling, and risk analysis; mentor junior engineers.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in chemical process engineering, petrochemicals, or specialty chemicals.
  • Strong knowledge of process safety management and applicable codes and standards.
  • Proficiency with process simulation tools (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, CHEMCAD); familiarity with CFD a plus.
  • Experience with PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and HAZOP studies.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management skills; ability to lead cross-functional groups.
  • Willingness to relocate to Houston, Texas, and travel as needed.
