Responsibility
- Lead the design and optimization of chemical processes using industry-standard simulation tools such as Aspen Plus and HYSYS.
- Develop and refine process flow diagrams, heat and material balances, and equipment specifications for new and existing facilities.
- Perform scale-up studies from laboratory data to pilot and production scales, ensuring robust and safe operation.
- Lead process safety analyses, risk assessment, and ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with operations, project management, procurement, and quality teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, review process deliverables, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare technical reports, commissioning plans, and commissioning documentation for handover to operations.
Qualification
- Bachelor or higher degree in chemical engineering; Masterβs degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in chemical process design, optimization, and scale-up.
- Proficiency with process simulation tools such as Aspen Plus and HYSYS; strong analytical skills.
- Solid knowledge of mass and energy balances, distillation, reaction engineering, and heat exchanger networks.
- Demonstrated experience with safety, integrity, and environmental compliance; familiarity with PSM and OSHA standards.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management abilities; ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship and willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.
