Responsibility
- Lead captivating walking and bus tours through downtown Austin and key neighborhoods, tailoring content to diverse audiences.
- Deliver accurate historical, cultural, and architectural information in a clear and engaging manner.
- Ensure guest safety and comfort; manage crowd flow and logistics for optimal experiences.
- Engage with guests, answer questions, and handle special requests with poise and professionalism.
- Coordinate with operations for tour timetables, check-ins, and equipment readiness.
- Capture feedback and support post-tour follow-up to improve service quality.
- Upsell/offer additional experiences or merchandise in a compliant, customer-friendly manner.
- Stay current with local events and site updates to keep content fresh and accurate.
Qualification
- Excellent English communication skills with natural storytelling ability.
- Minimum 1 year of tour guiding or customer-facing experience in hospitality or tourism.
- Strong public speaking skills and confident stage presence; able to engage groups of varying sizes.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; comfortable outdoors in varying weather.
- High level of customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible schedule including weekends and evenings; willingness to work under tight timelines.
- Relevant local knowledge or certifications are a plus; second language is a plus (Spanish, French, or Mandarin).
- Valid work authorization for the United States; background check may be required.
