We are seeking a seasoned Legal Consultant to join our premier advisory practice in New York City. This contract role focuses on regulatory compliance, contract diligence, and strategic risk management for corporate clients across sectors.

As a trusted advisor, you will translate complex legal concepts into practical guidance, draft and negotiate complex agreements, and partner with executives and cross-functional teams to protect value and enable growth. Responsibility

  • Provide strategic legal counsel on regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and risk management for multiple clients.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts, licensing agreements, and service agreements.
  • Conduct regulatory risk assessments and advise on remediation plans to achieve compliance.
  • Support M&A activity, due diligence, and integration planning from a legal perspective.
  • Develop and deliver training and awareness programs on compliance requirements for client teams.
  • Perform contract redlining and negotiation support with external counsel and business stakeholders.
  • Assist clients with dispute avoidance strategies and responses to external inquiries or investigations as needed.
  • Coordinate with internal specialists across privacy, data security, IP, and employment to deliver holistic solutions.

Qualification

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent; active bar admission in New York or eligible for admission
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in legal consulting, corporate law, or regulatory affairs
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. regulatory frameworks (e.g., securities, privacy, antitrust) and contract law
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills; ability to translate legal concepts into business implications
  • Proven ability to manage multiple clients and projects with minimal supervision
  • Experience in risk assessment, audit support, and compliance programs
  • Ability to work remotely or on-site in New York as needed; aligns with client timelines
  • Highly organized, proactive, and solution-oriented with strong ethics and discretion
