Responsibility
- Prepare and cook daily meals for crew and guests according to the vessel’s schedule and dietary requirements.
- Plan menus that offer variety, nutritional balance, and cater to multiple cultural preferences.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all galley and storage areas.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and collaborate with the ship’s management for reordering and provisioning.
- Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and rotation procedures to minimize waste.
- Observe all food safety, health, and sanitation guidelines as required by maritime regulations.
- Assist in loading and unloading shipments of food and galley supplies.
- Work effectively with multicultural crew members and respond to feedback in order to maintain satisfaction.
Qualification
- Valid Schengen Visa (mandatory for application).
- Previous experience as a Cook in a shipboard, hotel, or restaurant environment, preferably maritime.
- Knowledge of international and Asian cuisines, food preparation, and presentation techniques.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and work well under pressure.
- Good understanding of food safety and sanitation standards (STCW or relevant maritime training preferred).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to commit to extended periods onboard the vessel.
- Physically fit for tasks requiring stamina and mobility.
