Responsibility

  • Represent clients in criminal defence matters including serious and high-profile cases.
  • Advise clients on legal rights, strategies, and case development relating to criminal law, litigation, and offshore structuring.
  • Develop and implement robust legal strategies for cross-border and multi-jurisdictional matters.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, pleadings, and evidence for court proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research and stay up to date with the latest developments in local and international criminal law.
  • Liaise with clients, law enforcement, court officials, and other legal professionals across the Asia Pacific region.
  • Attend remote proceedings, consultations, and strategy sessions as required.
  • Maintain thorough, accurate, and confidential records for all client cases.

Qualification

  • Admitted as a lawyer in Australia or Malaysia, with a valid Practicing Certificate.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in criminal defence or litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian criminal law and international cross-border legal matters.
  • Proven track record of handling complex legal cases independently or in a team environment.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and drafting skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience managing offshore structuring or multi-jurisdictional matters is highly regarded.
  • Proficient in legal research databases and remote collaboration technologies.
