Responsibility
- Prepare and submit accurate customs declarations for imports and exports, ensuring compliance with Malaysia's regulations.
- Classify goods using HS codes and calculate duties, taxes, and fees to optimize clearance time and costs.
- Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to arrange shipments and obtain necessary permits and licenses.
- Monitor shipment status, proactively identify and resolve clearance issues, and communicate updates to clients.
- Maintain complete and compliant documentation for audits, regulatory requests, and trade initiatives.
- Liaise with Malaysia Customs, government authorities, and third-party brokers to resolve inquiries and ensure fast clearance.
- Assist in process improvements and digitalization efforts to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Qualification
- Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or a related logistics role.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysia customs regulations, HS classification, import/export procedures, and trade compliance.
- Proficiency with customs clearance software, ERP systems, and MS Office; ability to learn new tools quickly.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Effective communication and customer service skills; ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners; bilingual in English and Malay is a plus.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CIPT or equivalent) are a plus; willingness to pursue ongoing training.
