Job description

BrightPath Foundation is a dynamic nonprofit dedicated to empowering underrepresented communities through education, advocacy, and essential services. We are seeking a results driven Development Director to lead our fundraising and program advancement efforts in the Seattle metropolitan area.

In this role you will partner with the executive leadership, board of directors, and program teams to expand resources, strengthen donor relationships, and ensure transparent reporting to funders.

Responsibility

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet annual revenue targets across major gifts, foundations, corporate partnerships, and donor programs.
  • Build and steward a broad base of individual donors through personalized engagement, communications, and recognition programs.
  • Oversee grant writing, reporting, and compliance to ensure timely and compelling proposals to funders.
  • Manage development operations, including CRM stewardship, data analysis, gift processing, and pipeline management.
  • Plan and execute high-impact events and community engagements to raise awareness and support.
  • Collaborate with program teams to align fundraising with strategic priorities and measure impact against goals.
  • Recruit, mentor, and supervise a small development team or volunteer coordinators; foster a culture of accountability and learning.
  • Partner with the board of directors to develop a compelling case for support and strengthen governance around fundraising activities.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, public administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of fundraising or development experience with a track record of securing major gifts and grants.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, grant writing, and donor stewardship skills.
  • Experience with CRM systems and data-driven fundraising; Salesforce NPSP is a plus.
  • Strong budget management, strategic planning, and project management abilities.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of the Seattle philanthropic landscape is a plus; willingness to travel locally as needed.
