We are seeking a proactive Development Manager to lead donor acquisition, retention, and grant activity. This role collaborates with program teams to design a compelling case for support and to secure sustainable funding to expand impact. In this role you will report to the Director of Development and work closely with the Executive Director and program staff. You will manage a portfolio of donors, write grant proposals, plan annual fundraising events, and implement data-driven donor stewardship strategies.
Responsibility
- Develop and execute the annual fundraising plan to meet revenue targets and growth objectives.
- Manage donor stewardship, communications, and engagement strategies across multiple channels.
- Lead grant writing and reporting processes for foundations, corporations, and government partners.
- Plan and coordinate donor events, campaigns, and special appeals to maximize participation and giving.
- Oversee donor data management in the CRM, generate reports, and analyze fundraising metrics to inform strategy.
- Collaborate with program staff to refine the case for support and align fundraising with program outcomes.
- Manage a small development team or interns, providing mentorship and performance feedback.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, marketing, communications, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of fundraising experience in a nonprofit setting, with proven grant-writing success.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, storytelling, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with donor CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce/NPSP) and fundraising analytics.
- Strong project management abilities with attention to detail and deadlines.
- Collaborative, mission-driven mindset with high ethical standards.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends for events.
