Responsibility
- Lead editorial team and oversee acquisitions, development, and quality control.
- Manage end-to-end editorial workflow from manuscript to production with clear deadlines.
- Build and maintain strong author and agent relationships; evaluate proposals and negotiate terms.
- Collaborate with design, production, marketing, and sales to plan packaging, metadata, and go-to-market strategies.
- Develop and implement a data driven content strategy; manage budgets, calendars, and KPI tracking.
- Ensure rights and permissions management, contract compliance, and editorial standards across all titles.
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in English, Publishing, or related field; equivalent experience accepted.
- 5+ years in publishing with editorial leadership experience preferred.
- Proven track record of acquisitions and manuscript development.
- Strong copyediting, line editing, and proofreading skills; excellent command of grammar.
- Experience with CMS platforms and production workflows; familiarity with InCopy or QuarkXPress is a plus.
- Excellent project management, time management, and team leadership abilities.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
