TerraNova Publishing is seeking a strategic and results-driven Publishing Manager to lead our acquisitions, editorial, and product development teams in the heart of New York City. In this role, you will shape our publishing program, drive title strategy, manage production timelines, and partner with authors, agents, and internal stakeholders to deliver market leading books.

The ideal candidate blends strong editorial instincts with proven leadership, budget management, and a data-driven approach to decision making. You will steward end-to-end publishing operations from acquisition through delivery, ensuring quality, profitability, and timely releases across print and digital formats.

Responsibility

  • Develop and execute annual publishing strategy across multiple genres.
  • Lead an editorial team to acquire and develop high quality manuscripts.
  • Manage production calendars, budgeting, and vendor relationships to ensure on time delivery.
  • Collaborate with design, marketing, and sales to create impactful front matter, packaging, and campaigns.
  • Negotiate rights agreements and author contracts; oversee licensing and rights sales.
  • Track performance metrics and analyze title performance to inform strategy.

Qualification

  • 7+ years in publishing with 3+ years in editorial leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
