You will collaborate with authors, designers, and cross-functional teams to shape projects from concept through production and release, while maintaining brand voice and standards.
Responsibility
- Lead development and editorial oversight of print and digital publications across genres, ensuring compelling narratives, factual accuracy, and stylistic consistency.
- Own the editorial calendar, set milestones, and manage QA processes to hit aggressive but achievable deadlines.
- Edit and copyedit manuscripts, provide constructive feedback to authors and freelancers, and ensure adherence to house style.
- Collaborate with design, production, and marketing teams to deliver high-quality content on schedule and within budget.
- Oversee fact-checking, permissions, licensing, and content acquisitions as needed to expand the catalog.
- Mentor and manage junior editors, interns, and freelancers; optimize workflow with clear briefs and performance feedback.
- Monitor industry trends, reader preferences, and SEO considerations to inform content strategy and product development.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field; 8+ years of publishing/editing experience.
- Proven track record editing for both print and digital formats; strong portfolio of published work.
- Exceptional copyediting, proofreading, and fact-checking skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Familiarity with editorial systems, CMS platforms, and basic design tools (InDesign, Photoshop); comfortable reviewing proofs.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and time-management abilities; capable of leading multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and vendor management skills; ability to collaborate across departments and with external authors.
