Job description
We are seeking a proactive Editorial Project Manager to join Aurora Press in New York City. This role oversees cross-functional publishing projects from concept to print and digital delivery, ensuring quality, timely releases, and alignment with brand standards.
As a key bridge between editorial, design, production, and marketing, you will drive project plans, coordinate resources, and optimize content for readers and search visibility.
Responsibility
- Own end-to-end editorial projects, including scope, timelines, budgets, and risk management.
- Lead cross-functional teams (editors, designers, production, fact-checkers) to meet milestones.
- Develop and maintain the editorial calendar; track progress and report status to stakeholders.
- Ensure content quality, accuracy, and adherence to house style and brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with product, marketing, and SEO teams to optimize metadata, taxonomy, and publication strategies.
- Coordinate proofs, permissions, and rights clearance; manage vendor relationships.
- Monitor production workflows (print and digital) to ensure timely delivery and budget compliance.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field.
- 3-5 years of editorial or publishing project management experience.
- Strong understanding of house style guides (APA/Chicago) and editorial best practices.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS), digital publishing, and design tools (InDesign preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices, metadata, and content optimization.
