Join Evergreen Solutions Group as an Environmental Compliance & Sustainability Manager in Portland, OR. This full-time role leads environmental programs across facilities, aligning regulatory compliance with strategic ESG initiatives to drive measurable environmental performance.
You will collaborate with operations, legal, and engineering teams to ensure robust permit management, incident response, data collection, and reporting. The position offers a path to influence sustainability at scale in a dynamic, growth-focused organization.
Responsibility
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the environmental compliance program, ensuring regulatory alignment across federal, state, and local requirements.
- Oversee permits, reporting, incident investigation, and corrective actions for air, water, waste, and chemical management.
- Coordinate internal and external environmental audits, prepare management responses, and track corrective actions to closure.
- Develop and monitor ESG metrics and KPIs; produce data-driven reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Lead training and awareness initiatives to build a culture of environmental responsibility across the organization.
- Partner with operations and engineering to implement pollution prevention, waste reduction, and energy efficiency projects with measurable ROI.
- Maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies, industry groups, and community partners.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in environmental compliance and sustainability in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of EPA regulations, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and state/local requirements; ISO 14001 is a plus.
- Proven experience with data management, reporting, and ESG disclosures (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).
- Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to analyze complex data, identify risks, and develop practical mitigations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage audits and drive corrective action plans to closure.
