GreenPulse Environmental is seeking a proactive Environmental Management Specialist to lead regulatory compliance, sustainability programs, and risk assessment for our growing clientele in energy, manufacturing, and technology sectors. The ideal candidate will translate complex environmental regulations into practical programs, mentor teams, and collaborate with stakeholders to drive measurable environmental outcomes. Based in Austin, this role collaborates with operations, ethics, and engineering teams to ensure approvals, timely reporting, and continuous improvement across air, water, waste, and chemical management programs.
Responsibility
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management systems (EMS) aligned with ISO 14001 and client requirements across multiple facilities.
- Lead permit applications, renewals, and reporting (Title V, NPDES, hazardous waste, spill prevention, storage).
- Conduct regulatory risk assessments, internal audits, and corrective action plans to close gaps and prevent non-compliance.
- Coordinate incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and remediation steps with operations and EHS teams.
- Monitor KPIs for emissions, waste, energy, and water; prepare dashboards and executive summaries for leadership and clients.
- Provide training and mentorship to site personnel on regulatory compliance, auditing, and best practices in environmental stewardship.
- Collaborate with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to secure approvals and support sustainable program adoption across sites.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in environmental management, regulatory compliance, or sustainability programs.
- Solid knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (e.g., Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act), hazardous waste management, and permitting.
- Experience with ISO 14001 or EMS implementation and internal/external audits.
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills, with proficiency in Excel, GIS, and data visualization tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to influence at multiple levels and manage stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Professional certifications such as CEM, REM, or CHMM are highly valued.
