Job description

We are seeking a proactive Environmental Manager to lead our sustainability and regulatory program. This role drives environmental strategy, ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and partners with operations to minimize environmental impact.

As a key member of our EHS leadership team, you will oversee permitting, reporting, training, and performance analytics to create measurable improvements across facilities.

Responsibility

  • Lead development and execution of the company's environmental management program ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Manage environmental permits, reporting obligations, air emissions, wastewater, and hazardous waste programs in coordination with facilities and operations.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives including energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation, and supplier sustainability engagement.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators, develop dashboards, and present findings to leadership to inform strategic decisions.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, inspections, and corrective action programs; manage incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with operations, legal, and finance to integrate environmental considerations into project planning and capital investments.
  • Design and deliver training for employees and contractors to foster a culture of environmental stewardship and compliance.

Qualification

  • Bachelor degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in environmental management or EHS program leadership, ideally in manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations including EPA rules, RCRA, TSCA, Clean Air Act, and Clean Water Act.
  • Experience with permitting, reporting, audits, and regulatory inspections; ability to manage complex compliance calendars.
  • Data analysis and reporting proficiency; experience with EHS software, Microsoft Excel, and sustainability dashboards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
  • Professional certifications such as CEnvP, CSP, CHMM, or CIH are a plus.
