Join BluePlanet Environmental Group as an Environmental Manager in Seattle and lead our local environmental program across operations, regulatory compliance, and sustainability initiatives.
You will partner with site leadership to implement an effective Environmental Management System, drive compliance with state and federal environmental regulations, and advance our sustainability goals through data-driven decision making.
We seek a collaborative leader who can translate complex environmental requirements into practical actions, mentor staff, and build strong relationships with regulators, customers, and internal stakeholders.
Responsibility
- Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing improvement of the Environmental Management System (EMS) aligned with ISO 14001 and local regulations.
- Oversee regulatory compliance, permits, reporting, inspections, and interface with environmental agencies.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for air, water, waste, energy, and greenhouse gas emissions to drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct environmental risk assessments, incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
- Coordinate training and awareness programs for site personnel on EHS requirements and best practices.
- Manage environmental budgets, projects, and capital investments; lead cross-functional teams across site operations.
- Prepare sustainability reports, support external audits, and assist with certifications and stakeholder communications.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 5+ years of environmental management, EHS, or regulatory compliance experience; ISO 14001 knowledge strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations; experience with permits, reporting, and inspections.
- Strong data analysis skills, proficiency with Excel and environmental management software; ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with a track record of cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- Project management experience, including budget oversight and timeline management.
- Certifications such as ISO 14001 Lead Auditor or similar are a plus; willingness to pursue professional development.
