BluePlanet Environmental Services is seeking a proactive Environmental Manager to lead our compliance and sustainability initiatives across multiple client projects in the Pacific Northwest. This role combines regulatory expertise with hands-on program delivery, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven decision making.
As Environmental Manager, you will oversee permitting, emissions reporting, waste management, and environmental impact assessments, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations while driving continuous improvement.
Responsibility
- Lead and manage environmental compliance programs across multiple facilities and projects.
- Develop and maintain ISO 14001 aligned environmental management systems (EMS).
- Manage permitting, reporting (air emissions, wastewater, waste), and regulatory submissions.
- Conduct risk assessments and environmental due diligence for projects.
- Coordinate environmental training, audits, and corrective actions across sites.
- Engage regulators, contractors, and internal stakeholders; prepare executive dashboards and metrics.
- Lead incident investigations, spill prevention, and emergency response planning.
- Monitor and improve sustainability metrics; support client RFPs and performance improvement initiatives.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in environmental management and compliance in corporate or consulting settings.
- Strong knowledge of EPA and state regulatory requirements, permits, and reporting.
- Experience with ISO 14001 EMS implementation, audits, and improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in data collection/analysis, and reporting tools (Excel, dashboards, EHS software).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Project management experience with ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Professional certifications such as CEM, CSP, or PE are a plus.
