Join TerraNova Environmental Group, a leader in sustainable operations and environmental compliance. We are seeking an Environmental Manager to drive our environmental programs across multiple sites in the Chicago area. You will lead program design, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with cross-functional teams to advance our sustainability agenda while mitigating risk for our clients and operations.
In this role, you will shape strategies, implement robust environmental management systems, and guide teams toward measurable improvements in emissions, waste reduction, and resource efficiency.
Responsibility
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive environmental programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations across multiple sites.
- Develop and monitor key environmental metrics and KPIs; drive annual improvement plans to reduce emissions, waste, and energy use.
- Coordinate EHS audits, incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Manage permitting processes, reporting obligations, and regulatory interactions to maintain operational approvals.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and supply chain to assess environmental risk and integrate sustainability into product lifecycle decisions.
- Lead training and awareness initiatives to foster a culture of environmental stewardship and compliance.
- Prepare executive-level reports and present program status, risk considerations, and ROI to senior leadership and clients.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemical/Environmental Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in environmental management, EHS, or regulatory compliance in industrial or manufacturing settings.
- Strong knowledge of EPA regulations, OSHA standards, and local environmental permitting processes.
- Proven experience leading audits, incident investigations, and corrective action programs.
- Excellent data analysis, reporting, and communication skills; proficiency with environmental management software and MS Office.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
