Join Evergreen Environmental Solutions as an Environmental Program Manager and lead our environmental stewardship across multiple project sites in the Pacific Northwest. This role blends technical rigor with strategic leadership to ensure compliance, minimize risk, and advance our sustainability agenda.
In this position you will partner with operations, safety, and engineering teams to design, implement, and continuously improve our Environmental Management System (EMS) in line with ISO 14001 standards. You will also manage regulatory reporting, permit renewals, training programs, and stakeholder communications with regulators, customers, and community groups. The ideal candidate excels at translating complex environmental data into actionable plans and communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibility
- Develop and maintain the EMS in accordance with ISO 14001 across all operations.
- Lead regulatory compliance activities, permit management, reporting, and audit readiness with agencies (e.g., EPA, WA Dept of Ecology).
- Drive sustainability programs including waste reduction, water conservation, energy efficiency, and carbon accounting.
- Conduct environmental risk assessments and implement corrective action plans.
- Lead internal and supplier training on environmental policies and procedures.
- Monitor performance via metrics, dashboards, and regular reporting to leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed environmental considerations into project planning and operations.
- Coordinate external audits and respond to regulator inquiries with timely, accurate information.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 5+ years of environmental management, compliance, or sustainability experience; ISO 14001 experience.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations (EPA, WA Dept of Ecology).
- Proven experience implementing EMS, audits, and corrective action processes.
- Data analysis skills, proficiency with dashboards and reporting (Excel; BI tools preferred).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities; capable of leading cross-functional teams.
- Project management experience; ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously; PMP or similar certification is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, CEnv, LEED AP, or CEM are a plus.
