Responsibility
- Conduct field surveys and laboratory analysis to assess fish populations and aquatic ecosystems.
- Develop and implement fisheries management and conservation plans.
- Perform data collection, statistical analyses, and technical reporting.
- Collaborate with governmental agencies, conservation groups, and industry stakeholders.
- Contribute to scientific publications and present research findings at conferences.
- Utilize GIS and advanced modeling tools for habitat and stock assessments.
- Monitor regulatory compliance and support policy development.
- Lead or support field crew logistics while ensuring safety standards.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Fisheries Science, Marine Biology, Ecology, or related field; Master's preferred.
- 3+ years of relevant fisheries research or management experience.
- Proficiency in statistical software and data analysis (e.g., R, Python).
- Experience with fisheries fieldwork, sampling, and laboratory methodologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of federal and state fisheries regulations.
- Valid driver’s license and capability for periodic field travel.
