Responsibility
- Conduct field and laboratory research on local fish populations and aquatic habitats.
- Design and implement monitoring programs to assess fish stocks, biodiversity, and habitat quality.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret biological data using advanced statistical software.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports and deliver presentations to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with governmental agencies, conservation groups, and commercial fishermen.
- Advise on sustainable fisheries management strategies and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in public outreach and educational initiatives regarding marine conservation.
- Ensure all work adheres to ethical, safety, and environmental protocols.
Qualification
- Master’s degree or higher in Fisheries Biology, Marine Science, or related field.
- At least 3 years of research experience in fisheries or aquatic ecology.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and scientific software (e.g., R, ArcGIS).
- Strong report writing and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Pacific Northwest marine ecosystems is an asset.
- Experience with field sampling techniques and laboratory procedures.
- Detail-oriented with superior analytical and organizational abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field sites.
