Pacific Aqua Resources is seeking a highly motivated Marine Fisheries Biologist eager to make a positive impact on the sustainability of Pacific Northwest marine ecosystems. Join our passionate team in spearheading state-of-the-art fisheries research and resource management initiatives.
Responsibility
- Design and implement scientific studies to assess fish populations and marine habitats.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret biological and environmental data.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies, NGOs, and fishery stakeholders.
- Develop and present technical reports and recommendations.
- Monitor and advise on sustainable resource management practices.
- Conduct fieldwork, including vessel-based sampling and field surveys.
- Support public outreach and education programs related to fisheries.
Qualification
- Master’s degree in Marine Biology, Fisheries Science, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ applied fisheries research experience.
- Proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python, SPSS).
- Strong knowledge of Pacific Northwest marine ecosystems.
- Demonstrated experience in data collection and technical reporting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to participate in fieldwork, sometimes in challenging conditions.
- Valid driver’s license required; vessel operator certification a plus.
