Join Aurora Gourmet Foods, a leading innovator in premium ready-to-eat meals, as our next Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager in San Francisco. You’ll safeguard product integrity from ingredient sourcing to finished goods, ensuring compliance with global standards and regulatory requirements.

In this role, you’ll partner with R&D, Operations, and Supply Chain to design and sustain robust food safety programs that protect consumers and the brand. You’ll lead audits, drive CAPAs, and champion continuous improvement across all manufacturing sites.

Responsibility

  • Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of the food safety, quality assurance, and compliance programs (HACCP, GMP, SQF) across all production lines.
  • Plan and execute internal and external audits; manage corrective actions and verification activities.
  • Oversee supplier quality management, including supplier approvals, incoming material testing, and remediation of nonconforming materials.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs and data-driven dashboards to detect trends, drive root-cause analysis, and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with R&D on product launches and reformulations to maintain safety and quality standards.
  • Lead staff training on food safety policies, GMP, hygiene, and allergen controls; coach cross-functional teams on best practices.
  • Maintain and archive documentation, certifications, and regulatory submissions to ensure readiness for audits and inspections.
  • Respond rapidly to quality incidents, investigate deviations, and implement CAPAs with measurable outcomes.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in food safety and quality assurance within manufacturing or processing environments.
  • Expertise in HACCP, GMP, SQF/ISO 22000, and FSMA regulations; internal and third-party audits.
  • Strong supplier quality management experience including supplier audits, material testing, and CAPA processes.
  • Proficiency with QA software, data analytics, and Microsoft Excel; ability to translate data into actionable improvements.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills; fluent in English.
  • Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
