Join Crescent Foods Co., a leading innovator in the US packaged foods sector. We are seeking a results-driven Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager to safeguard product integrity, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across our manufacturing plants in the New York area.
As part of our Quality & Compliance team, you will lead programs that guarantee safety and quality from ingredient sourcing through finished product release. This role offers an opportunity to influence product quality and customer satisfaction in a fast paced, consumer-focused environment.
Responsibility
- Lead the development and implementation of the food safety and quality assurance program aligned with FDA FSMA GMP and HACCP standards.
- Oversee day-to-day QA operations, product release, and disposition decisions for all finished goods and packaging.
- Manage supplier quality programs including audits, supplier scorecards, and CAPA tracking to ensure ingredient integrity.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, and quality metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, host regulatory inspections, and manage corrective action plans.
- Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing to ensure new product launches meet safety, quality, and labeling requirements.
- Lead training initiatives on food safety, quality systems, and regulatory compliance for cross-functional teams.
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field; graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in food safety and quality assurance within a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of FSMA, HACCP, GMP, and ISO 22000; experience with audits and regulatory inspections.
- Proven ability to manage supplier QA programs, audits, and CAPA processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Analytical thinker with proficiency in data analysis, trend monitoring, and QMS/ERP systems.
- Willingness to travel up to 15 percent and adapt to a fast-paced production schedule.
