Join our renowned contemporary fine arts gallery in the heart of New York City as the Gallery Director. This leadership role shapes the gallery’s curatorial voice, donor engagement, and public programs. Responsibility
- Lead the development and execution of an ambitious, story-driven exhibition program aligned with the gallery’s mission.
- Oversee curatorial research, cataloging, loan agreements, and installation planning.
- Manage budgeting, procurement, and gallery operations to ensure financial sustainability.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with artists, lenders, patrons, collectors, and partner institutions.
- Lead fundraising efforts, grant writing, sponsorship development, and donor stewardship.
- Recruit, mentor, and manage a small team, including curators, registrars, and interns.
- Represent the gallery at public programs, press events, and international art fairs; enhance the gallery’s public profile.
Qualification
- Advanced degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Museum Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in curatorial, gallery management, or museum settings.
- Proven track record of successful exhibitions, acquisitions, and collaborative projects.
- Strong donor relations, fundraising, grant writing, and sponsored program development skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and written skills; fluency in contemporary art discourse.
- Budget management, project planning, and operations oversight with attention to detail.
- Strong network within the art world and ability to navigate galleries, artists, and institutions.
