JTE Recruit is seeking an accomplished Head of Procurement to lead the strategic sourcing and supplier-management function for a prominent food industry player in Singapore. In this high-impact leadership role, you will shape end-to-end procurement strategy across direct and indirect spends, drive cost optimization, and ensure uninterrupted supply of ingredients, packaging, and critical indirect services. You will partner with operations, quality assurance, R&D, and finance to deliver sustainable value while upholding the highest standards of food safety and regulatory compliance. This role offers a competitive package, including a monthly salary up to SGD 12,000, AWS, and performance-based bonuses.
You will own category management for key spend areas, build robust supplier relationships, negotiate favorable contracts, and implement risk-management frameworks. You will lead a team of procurement professionals, mentor talent, and champion data-driven decision making through advanced analytics and procurement systems. You will also drive digital transformationâadopting e-sourcing tools, ERP integration, and supplier scorecards to improve lead times, inventory turns, and overall spend efficiency. You will collaborate with global suppliers and local partners to ensure sustainable sourcing, supplier development, and continuous quality improvements across the supply base. Responsibility
- Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy for direct and indirect spend, including ingredients, packaging, equipment, and services.
- Lead supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, and ongoing relationship management to secure reliable, high-quality sources.
- Own category management, demand planning, supplier risk assessments, and supplier diversity initiatives.
- Collaborate with Operations, QA, R&D, and Finance to ensure quality, compliance, and cost optimization across the supply chain.
- Implement digital procurement tools (e-sourcing, ERP integration, analytics) to improve spend visibility, lead times, and inventory management.
- Develop and coach a high-performing procurement team; establish KPIs, performance reviews, and talent development plans.
- Drive cost reduction programs and supplier development initiatives while maintaining compliance with food safety standards (HACCP/ISO 22000) and regulatory requirements.
Qualification
- Bachelorâs degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or a related field; MBA or professional certification (CIPS/CSCP) preferred.
- 8+ years of procurement/strategic sourcing experience, with at least 5 years in food manufacturing or FMCG sectors.
- Proven track record in strategic sourcing, complex contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
- Strong knowledge of procurement systems (ERP, e-sourcing tools) and data analytics with a data-driven mindset.
- Solid understanding of food safety standards (HACCP, ISO 22000) and regulatory compliance in the food industry.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, team development, and cross-functional collaboration with operations, QA, and finance.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills; ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
