Hao Xiang Chi Seafood Restaurant Group S/B is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead all human resources operations across our family of seafood restaurants in Setia Alam, Selangor. This is a senior, hands-on role designed to align people strategy with business objectives in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The HR Manager will own the full employee lifecycle—from talent acquisition and onboarding to development, retention, and exit processes—ensuring a compliant, engaging, and high-performing workplace.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing manpower planning and recruitment strategies to fill roles across front-of-house, kitchen, and support functions; designing competitive compensation and benefits programs; administering payroll, leaves, and tax documentation; implementing performance management systems; conducting employee relations and grievance resolution; maintaining HR policies, handbook updates, and compliance with Malaysian Labour Law and regulatory requirements; managing HRIS and payroll systems; and providing accurate reporting to senior leadership.
Collaborating with operations leaders, the HR Manager will foster continuous improvement in people processes, drive training and development initiatives, implement learning programs, and support a positive, safe, and inclusive workplace culture. Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end recruitment and selection across all restaurant locations, building strong talent pipelines and ensuring timely onboarding.
- Develop manpower planning strategies to align staffing with business cycles, seasonal demand, and expansion plans.
- Oversee payroll, attendance, leaves, and benefits administration in compliance with Malaysian labour laws and company policies.
- Design and manage performance management systems, learning and development programs, and succession planning to drive high performance.
- Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and employee handbook; ensure consistent application across the group.
- Manage employee relations, resolve grievances, conduct investigations, and uphold fair disciplinary processes.
- Maintain HRIS accuracy, generate HR metrics, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Partner with operations leaders to cultivate a positive, safe, and inclusive workplace culture that supports guest satisfaction.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; professional HR certification (SHRM, CIPD) is a plus.
- Minimum 5+ years of HR management experience in hospitality or multi-unit environments.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian Labour Law, statutory requirements, and HR compliance best practices.
- Proven leadership and people-management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll platforms; data analysis and reporting capabilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Fluent in English; Malay language proficiency is advantageous.
