MetroForge Industries, a leader in high-precision manufacturing, is seeking an Industrial Production Engineer to optimize operations at our Detroit facility. You will apply data-driven methods to improve throughput, reduce waste, and ensure safe, high-quality production across multiple lines.

Responsibility
- Lead and execute manufacturing process improvements to reduce cycle time, scrap, and downtime across assigned lines.
- Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and implement Lean Six Sigma projects with measurable gains.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
- Collaborate with maintenance to maximize equipment availability (OEE) and plan preventive maintenance activities.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Support new product introductions (NPI) and line trials, including process validation and operator training.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards; champion 5S and visual management on the shop floor.
- Mentor operators and technicians; drive training initiatives to elevate workforce capability.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher; proven track record of completed improvement projects with measurable impact.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis, Excel, dashboards, and MES/ERP systems.
- Experience with PLCs, automation concepts, and basic electrical/mechanical troubleshooting is a plus.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities; ability to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to read blueprints and process documentation; familiarity with safety regulations and quality standards.
