Job description
We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvements at our Austin facility. This role partners with production, quality, and maintenance to optimize throughput, quality, and cost. You will apply lean manufacturing principles, data-driven problem solving, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to scale production and support new product introductions.
Responsibility
- Lead cross-functional process improvement projects to increase throughput, reduce waste, and improve yield.
- Develop and implement standardized work, SOPs, and 6S programs across manufacturing cells.
- Analyze production data (MES/ERP), perform root-cause analysis, and implement countermeasures using DMAIC and Kaizen methodologies.
- Collaborate with maintenance and suppliers to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Lead PFMEA and risk assessments for new and existing processes, driving robust control plans.
- Support new product introductions with process design, pilot runs, and capacity planning.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related field; master's preferred.
- 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in high-volume production environment.
- Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma (certification preferred), SDCA/PDCA, and problem-solving tools.
- Experience with CAD tools, ERP/MES systems (e.g., SAP PP/PP-PI), data analysis (Excel, Minitab), and basic programming for data queries.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage projects, and communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, and leadership.
- Familiarity with automation, PLCs, robotics, or process instrumentation; strong troubleshooting skills.
- Strong documentation, attention to detail, and change-management mentality.
