Join Apex Manufacturing Solutions as an Industrial Production Engineer in Chicago, IL. You will lead cross-functional teams to optimize high-volume production processes, improve throughput, and ensure top-tier quality across multiple lines.
You will leverage lean methodologies, data analytics, and modern automation to reduce waste, shorten changeovers, and elevate process capability. This role offers a clear path to leadership within a dynamic, quality-driven manufacturing environment.
Responsibility
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve OEE, throughput, and product quality across assigned lines.
- Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and implement data-driven solutions.
- Design and optimize processes, layouts, and work instructions to reduce waste and cycle times.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and supply chain to ensure robust production readiness.
- Lead root cause investigations (RCA) and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Support new product introductions with process design, validation, and PFMEA.
- Mentor operators and line leads in standardized work and problem-solving techniques.
- Drive implementation of automation and digitization projects to improve efficiency.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in a manufacturing or industrial production environment.
- Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher), and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with data analytics, SPC, MSA, and process capability studies.
- Proficiency with PLCs, automation systems, and integration with ERP/MES.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Lean manufacturing tools and a track record of delivering measurable improvements.
